My boss pointed me to a dentist in Denver after he noticed that I’d missed work for yet another dental appointment. I guess he got tired of looking at my swollen and numb face. I’ve been going to the dentist a lot lately due to several molars that have been giving me a lot of problems. It started about five years ago when I started getting a lot of cavities in these teeth, more than what would be considered normal. My dentist kept filling them, but more would pop up. It got to the point where I was having work done on them constantly.
I thought I would lose them, and my dentist said as much during a recent appointment. He suggested I look into porcelain crowns as a possible solution. Unfortunately, he didn’t do that type of work. It was my boss who helped me find a great dentist who has a lot of experience doing crowns. I made an appointment and went in to see what could be done. I only had two important issues, namely that it wouldn’t hurt and that it could be done reasonably quickly with minimal swelling afterwards so I didn’t look like a chipmunk for days.
The dentist inspected my mouth and recommended three crowns. He said they would hold up very well for a long time as long as I took care of my teeth and came in for regular visits. I’m pleased to say that putting in the crowns was a piece of cake. Grinding the teeth down for them wasn’t painful at all, either. They fit really well and there seems to be no space between the crown and the gum line, a space being what usually causes a crown to fail. Now I’m back to eating all my favorite foods without worrying about more cavities.
